Jennifer Smyser is a program officer in Communication and Outreach at the Stanley Foundation where she is responsible for outreach to citizen groups, advocates, and grassroots leaders. Prior to joining the foundation, Smyser spent ten years working in US-based NGOs focused on international education, exchange, and training. Most recently she was the associate director of the Iowa Council for International Understanding. Smyser has also been involved with various citizen-based groups and brings a wealth of experience in advocacy from a grassroots perspective. She holds a B.A. in political science and international studies from Iowa State University and a master's degree in public administration from Drake University.
