UNder Fire: The United Nations' Battle for Relevance

The Stanley Foundation

The Stanley Foundation is a private operating foundation working toward a secure peace with freedom and justice. The foundation pursues this mission through diverse programs that are intended to provoke thought and encourage dialogue on international relations and world affairs.

From 1980 to 2004 the Stanley Foundation produced Common Ground, a weekly radio program on world affairs. Common Ground co-hosts Keith Porter and Kristin McHugh were co-producers of this documentary.

"UNder Fire" is the foundation's fifth major radio documentary. The foundation released "Children of War" in March 2003, the Russia Project in December 2001 on the 10th anniversary of the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the Iran Project in January of 2001 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the release of the American hostages from Iran.

In spring 2000, the Stanley Foundation partnered with American RadioWorks™ to produce the two-hour radio documentary "Revisiting Vietnam." The foundation plans to produce additional special radio and Web projects on international affairs.
