Summer ExplorationsSummer Explorations is a one-week program for seventh and eighth grade Muscatine, Iowa, area girls that encourages them to become involved global citizens and empowers them to make positive changes in their lives, communities, and world. Girls and their leaders stay at a retreat center and participate in a variety of activities aimed at team building, exploring other cultures, and self-empowerment. Empowerment activities, such as the ropes course, are linked to global components through discussion and exploration of actions that can be taken at the local level by youth working as global citizens.
