James Henderson is a program officer at the Stanley Foundation and founder and coordinator of the Euro-Atlantic Initiatives program. His current projects are examining political and economic development in Southeastern Europe, the enlargement of the European Union and North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and US-Russia relations.
James has worked on international policy issues concerning economic, political, and security transition in Russia and Eastern Europe; arms control and nonproliferation; and economic development at the North Atlantic Assembly, Oversees Development Council, and the Atlantic Council of the United States. James received a B.A. from the University of Washington and an M.A. in modern European and Russian history from the George Washington University. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver where he is pursuing studies in political, economic, and security transition in Russia and Eastern Europe.
