Children's War Drawings Exhibition. Amnesty International Chapter 280 and the Stanley Foundation will sponsor the "Children's War Drawings Exhibition" at the Chelsea Art Museum in New York from July 15 to 30. The exhibit will showcase drawings from children suffering in war-torn areas around the world and will feature a quilt created in association with the 2003 radio documentary "Children of War: Fighting, Dying, Surviving." Kristin McHugh of the Stanley Foundation will participate in a panel discussion on July 14, opening night, at 6 p.m. Some of the drawings being exhibited were secured for the "Children of War" documentary and are being provided by the Stanley Foundation.
The People Speak. This year, The People Speak series will focus on the United States' leadership role and membership in the United Nations. The 2005 theme is "Building a Safer World: Can America and the UN Work Together?" Find an event near you or consider sponsoring your own event.

Americans for Informed Democracy (AID). AID is a nonpartisan group that fosters global understanding by sponsoring town hall meetings, hosting leadership retreats, and publishing opinion pieces and reports. It seeks to inspire a new generation of international leaders and promote America's image in the world.
The United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA). UNA brings people together to promote US leadership in the United Nations. Among its work, the group supports Model UN and Global Classroom programs and sponsors the E-Action Network to alert UN supporters when action is needed on important UN issues.
World Affairs Councils of America (WACA). WACA brings nonprofit and nonpartisan organizations together with the goal of engaging grassroots America in world affairs. It publishes Great Decisions, a discussion piece that aims to educate citizens about US foreign policy. The group also focuses on education and presenting speakers on foreign policy topics that concern Americans.
ReformtheUN.org. A project of the World Federalist Institute-Institute for Global Policy, this site tracks developments important to the current reform effort and offers action alerts for informed citizen involvement.
